164th General Assembly of Bureau International des Expositions kicks off in Paris

The 164th General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) has today started in Paris.
The General Assembly heard reports on the course of implementation of Expo 2020 Dubai and Expo 2023 Buenos Aires. The event also featured presentations on Expo 2019 Beijing, Expo 2022 Amsterdam, Horticultural Expo 2021 Doha and Triennale di Milano 2019.
The event will also see final presentations of the candidate cities to host World Expo 2025. Three cities are candidates to host World Expo 2025: Baku (Azerbaijan), Osaka (Japan) and Ekaterinburg (Russia).
Films about Azerbaijan and Baku`s bid to host World Expo 2025 will be screened at the event.
The 170 Member States of the BIE will elect the host country at the 164th General Assembly.
