25 killed, over 18 others wounded in a traffic accident in Samangan

At least 25 passengers lost their lives in a deadly traffic accident in northern Samangan province of Afghanistan earlier this evening, local officials said.
The officials further added the incident took place after a passenger bus collided with a truck around 5:00 pm local time.
Provincial police spokesman Munir Rahimi said the incident took place in Hazrat Sultan area of after the passenger collided with a transportation truck and overturned.
Rahimi further added that women and children were among those who lost their lives as well those who sustained injuries in the incident.
In the meantime, officials in the provincial hospital have confirmed that the dead bodies of 25 people along 18 others wounded in the incident were taken to the hospital.
This comes as at least four people lost their lives and forty three others sustained injuries in a similar incident on Kabul-Balkh highway earlier last month.
The incident took place after a passenger bus bound for capital Kabul from Mazar-e-Sharif city collided with a transportation truck.
The passenger bus was traveling from Mazar-e-Sharif, capital of Balkh province, to Kabul and the truck was coming from the opposite side.
