"Azerbaijan and the World": New energy routes are being formed between East and West VIDEO
Baku, April 14, AZERTAC
A new episode of the program "Azerbaijan and the World" has been released on the AZERTAC website. Host Tamilla Mammadova spoke with Cyril Widdershoven, an expert on the global energy market, geopolitics, energy risks, and security, about Azerbaijan's role in the global energy system.
Noting that Azerbaijan is actively developing multi-vector energy diplomacy, the expert emphasized that the country is simultaneously strengthening its position as an important oil and gas hub and becoming a key platform for energy transit.
The program's interviewee noted that Azerbaijan is connecting the region's energy resources with growing demand in Europe and strengthening its position as an alternative source of natural gas. He also noted the development of a green energy agenda, including offshore wind energy, projects to export renewable energy along the Black Sea, and the prospects for establishing a hydrogen hub.
According to Widdershoven, in today’s changing geopolitical situation, Azerbaijan's importance will increase due to its strategic position, which allows for the distribution of energy flows between Russia, Central Asia, and, in the future, Iran and Iraq in the direction of Europe and Asia.
