"Azerbaijan and the World": Baku supports Bulgaria's energy security VIDEO
Baku, April 17, AZERTAC
A new episode of the program "Azerbaijan and the World" has been
released on the AZERTAC website. Host Tamilla Mamedova spoke with former Bulgarian Deputy Energy Minister Yavor Kuyumdzhiev about energy cooperation between Baku and Sofia.
Noting the importance of Azerbaijan's support, Kuyumdzhiev emphasized that energy supplies play a significant role in ensuring Bulgaria's energy security. He also noted that, given the current geopolitical situation, the diversification of energy sources, including oil supplies, and the development of alternative avenues of cooperation are increasingly important.
According to Kuyumdzhiev, the development of renewable energy sources is a promising area of cooperation between the countries. The expert noted Bulgaria's achievements in this area, including significant solar energy capacity and the development of energy storage systems, which opens up vast opportunities for joint projects.
The former deputy minister also drew attention to the significance of the project to lay an electricity cable along the bottom of the Black Sea, which will connect Azerbaijan via Georgia with Europe, including Romania and Bulgaria. In his opinion, this creates additional conditions for expanding energy cooperation and utilizing the potential of renewable resources, including solar energy, in the southern regions of Azerbaijan.
