A new episode of the program "Azerbaijan and the World" has been released on the AZERTAC website. Host Tamilla Mammadova spoke with Chinese logistics expert Wanxu Dong about Azerbaijan's role in the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of transport corridors.
Noting Azerbaijan's strategic role in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, the expert emphasized that the country is a key link in the Middle Corridor, which connects China, Central Asia, the Caspian region, the Caucasus, and Europe. He noted that, as global supply chains are transforming, the importance of this route is growing, and infrastructure development, particularly the Alat Port, is helping to transform Azerbaijan into a regional logistics and distribution hub.
The expert also noted that the Middle Corridor provides more direct access to countries in Southeastern Europe and Türkiye, offering modern and flexible transport solutions. He concluded by emphasizing that Azerbaijan's role as a key logistics hub will continue to grow in the coming years, facilitating trade growth and strengthening economic ties between countries in the region.
