5th IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians kicks off in Baku

The 5th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) has kicked off in Baku.
In his opening remarks, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov hailed the contribution that the youth around the world make to the sustainable development.
The IPU President Gabriela Cuevas Barron highlighted the challenges that the world will face in the years to come, underlining the need for making the right choices and decisions for the good of humanity.
President of the IPU Forum of Young Parliamentarians Mourine Osoru said it is very important that the political decisions have an impact on young people. “Youth should be more empowered because they are the driving force in society,” she added.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov pointed out Azerbaijan’s youth policy, as well as state attention to the youth in the country.
