78th session of CIS Council of Border Troops Commanders kicks off in Baku

The 78th session of CIS Council of Commanders of Border Troops has kicked off in Baku. Border services of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan participate in the event.
Addressing the event, Assistant to the Azerbaijani President for Work with Law Enforcement Bodies and Military Issues Fuad Alasgarov said that reliable protection of state borders is one of the main conditions of the fight against international terrorism, separatism, transnational organized crime, illegal migration, smuggling of components of MDW and drugs, as well as of international security. He underlined that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the issues of border security.
Yesterday heads of the delegations participating in the session were received by President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. The President emphasized the importance of border security to Azerbaijan and significance of international cooperation of border authorities.
