ANALYSTS CALL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN US “THE ARMAGEDDON OR GREAT BATTLE”

In opinion of analysts, the figures reflect not only rivalry of Bush and Kerry, but also the divergence in opinions of the people divided into two big groups - opinion of the Americans, which were divided into two camps from the political, economic, ideological, cultural and demographic point of view.
Summing up the characteristics given by voters to both candidates, it is possible to come to such conclusion, that President Bush, as the man is pleasant. His leadership qualities and resoluteness receive positive estimation. Though war in Iraq and the reasons of the beginning of this war do not receive support, George Bush's personal behavior and his family values create high opinion on him.
As to John Kerry, the voters consider that it is a clever man, worthy to become the head of the state. Kerry enjoys deep trust in improvement of economy, public health services, education and other spheres. The doubt is caused by question on, whether he will change in further his attitude to the given problems as the position of the Senator Kerry is estimated as the person who for the sake of public support frequently changes the position.
According to the head of influential NBC TV and the newspaper “ Wall Street Journal” Peter Hart, George Bush's basic purpose during 4-years presidential activity consisted in winning also the next elections and as against the Bush-senior “to remain in the White House for the second term”. In opinion of the expert, it is possible, as when the Bush-senior was elected for the second term, 74 percent of voters were dissatisfied with economic situation in the country. Today, 45-52 percent of voters count the American economy satisfactory. According to Peter Hart, experience of last 52 years testifies that if the voter is pleased with economy, the President is traditionally elected for the next term.
Political analyst John Zogby exactly predicting results of the previous elections in the US calls today’s presidential elections of 2004 “The Armageddon or Great Battle ”. John Zogby says that representatives of both political camps consider that if the opposite side will gain the victory, there will come almost a doomsday. In his opinion, the American public for the first time appeared such divided, such angry and states that will not agree with a victory of the candidate by the opposite side.
