Azerbaijan-Lithuania Intergovernmental Commission holds 3rd session
Baku, June 29 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijan-Lithuania Intergovernmental Commission has held its 3rd session in Vilnius.
The meeting was co-chaired by Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Minister Linas Linkevicius and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov.
In their speeches, the ministers praised the Azerbaijan-Lithuania relations. They stressed the role of the commission in developing and strengthening the bilateral ties.
Other speakers hailed the Azerbaijan-Lithuania relations, saying they reached a level of strategic partnership.
They lauded the economic cooperation between the two countries, and emphasized the importance of boosting the bilateral trade.
The speakers said the two nations enjoyed close cooperation on all bilateral fronts as well as as part of the European Union’s “Eastern Partnership” program.
They described Lithuania`s forthcoming EU Council chairmanship as another opportunity for furthering the bilateral cooperation.
The session saw the two countries discuss mutual investment making, as well as relations in the areas of industry and energy, agriculture, youth and sports, culture and tourism, ICT and economy.
The 4th gathering of the Commission will take place in Baku.
