Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss prospects for development of military cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who is on an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, has met with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the country, General Nadeem Raza.

Prior to the meeting, an official welcoming ceremony was held. The national anthems of both countries were performed, and the Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, passed along the guard of honor.

General Nadeem Raza expressed satisfaction with seeing the Azerbaijani delegation in his country. He also noted that friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have developed significantly and entered a new stage.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov stressed that there are historically friendly ties between the two countries’ peoples, and these relations, as in other spheres, have made a great contribution to the development of bilateral military cooperation.

The importance of expanding ties between the types of troops of the two countries' armies, organizing mutual visits, and further development of cooperation was emphasized at the meeting.

The sides discussed military, military-technical, and military-educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as issues of combating terrorism and security, and other issues.
