Azerbaijan sends humanitarian aid to Yemen

Baku, May 8, AZERTAC

In accordance with the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's instruction, Azerbaijan has sent humanitarian aid to the Republic of Yemen as UN Secretary General António Guterres made an appeal to member-states over the humanitarian crisis in this country.

The humanitarian aid will be provided to those who are affected by the crisis in Yemen through the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

According to the UN data, 80 per cent of the Yemen’s population, about 24 million people, are in need of aid and nearly 10 million are just one step away from famine.
