Azerbaijani Ambassador meets Laotian Premier
Vietnam, February 17 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Lao People`s Democratic Republic Anar Imanov has met the country`s Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong.
They discussed cooperation between the two countries in a variety of fields.
The Premier congratulated Imanov on his appointment, and wished him successes during his tenure.
He noted foundation of the Azerbaijan-Laos relations had been laid as early as the Soviet Union, adding the Laotian youth received education in Azerbaijani universities at that time.
The Premier stressed the necessity of developing cooperation between the two countries.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador expressed hope that ties between the two countries would be more active.
Imanov said Azerbaijan was interested in cooperation with Laos, adding there was great potential for development of relations between the two countries.
The diplomat also highlighted Azerbaijan`s policy in the South Caucasus region, as well as in the international arena.
Imanov hailed Azerbaijan`s contributions to the global energy security, noting the country implemented several investment projects in Europe.
The Ambassador noted that the Azerbaijan-Laos cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, science and technology would be beneficial for both sides.
The Laotian Premier, in turn, stressed the necessity of organizing the high level reciprocal visits in terms of development of relations between the two countries.
