Azerbaijani delegation attends St. Petersburg International Economic Forum
Baku, June 21 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani delegation including Polad Bulbuloglu, Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, the Chairman of OJSC International Bank of Azerbaijan Jahangir Hajiyev, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and other state organizations have participated at the 17th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The forum, being held under the motto “Prospects of global economy: The time for a decisive action”, is organized under the patronage of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the participation of more than 5,400 economic figures, 89 countries and 77 Heads of State.
More than 4,000 business leaders, policy makers, and economic experts from around the world had come together to brainstorm ways out of the global economic crisis.
On the sidelines of the forum, SOCAR President has met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
The Forum discusses issues related to the political challenges, the economic and social impacts of crises, reviving global economy, change of powers on the international arena and the new technical potentials.
The Forum will also discuss motivation to investment in order to speed up the process of global economic growth, and the participants will also discuss ways to mitigate the effects of the global financial crisis, and mechanisms to stimulate international trade, global investment and economic diversification.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will also attend the forum.
