Azerbaijani minister of education visits Russian State University for the Humanities
Moscow, April 13, AZERTAC
Azerbaijan`s minister of education Mikayil Jabbarov has today visited the Russian State University for the Humanities as part of his Moscow trip.
Rector of the University Evgeny Ivakhnenko and president Yefim Pivovar accompanied the minister as he toured the library, museum and auditoriums of the high school.
Minister Jabbarov then had a meeting with the teaching staff of the university.
Following the meeting, Jabbarov and Pivovar were interviewed by AZERTAC`s special correspondent Farida Abdullayeva.
Minister Jabbarov hailed “rapid development” of humanitarian relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. He noted that Lomonosov Moscow State University and Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University had branches in Baku, and Azerbaijan`s State University of Economy had a branch in Russia.
He expressed confidence that his current visit would give a push to the implementation of some projects aimed at expanding information exchange between scientist and university students of the two countries.
Pivovar noted that they were preparing experts in Azerbaijani language, history and culture in the university. “This is very important for us. Cooperation with Azerbaijan allows us to expand our cooperation with the Caspian basin states, Islamic countries, as well as with Turkey and Iran. Thanks to national leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev, the teaching of Russian language was not reduced in the country, but, on the contrary, expanded. This encourages us to teach Azerbaijani language in Russia in a more active and enthusiastic manner,” he added.
