Azerbaijani peacekeepers seen off to Afghanistan
Baku, July 8 (AZERTAC). Today, 30 peacekeepers of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, who are serving under the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan, were seen off to Afghanistan on a rotating basis, Defense Ministry’s press service said.
The peacekeeping contingent of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has been serving under the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan since November 20, 2002. Currently, a group of 90 servicemen, 2 medical officers and 2 sappers are participating in a peace-building mission in Afghanistan.
