Azerbaijan`s Deputy Prime Minister meets Parliament Speaker of Malta

Azerbaijan`s Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the State Committee for Refugee and IDP Affairs Ali Hasanov has met Speaker of the House of Representatives of Parliament of Malta Angelo Farrugia.
Mr. Hasanov highlighted realities about Azerbaijan, as well as ongoing developing processes carried out in the country, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The Deputy Premier provided an insight into a cause and consequences of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying 20 per cent of the country`s territories were occupied by Armenia as the result of the conflict 1 million people turned refugees and IDPs. "The national monuments, cultural heritage of Azerbaijan were destroyed. UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on unconditional, immediate withdrawal of Armenian Armed Forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands." The Deputy Premier added.
The Deputy Prime Minister also said OSCE, PACE, OIC and other international organizations adopted the resolutions on condemning aggressive policy of Armenia. He stated that "Armenia refused to honour these resolutions and continued its illegal acts in Azerbaijan`s occupied territories. OSCE Minsk Group mediates the peacefully solving conflict. This has not yielded results. Azerbaijan faced with the double standards and injustice in the international arena".
Angelo Farrugia, in turn, highlighted developing Azerbaijani-Maltese relations. On refugee problem in Europe the Speaker spoke about Maltese stand in Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying the country supports peacefully settlement of the dispute. He stressed the importance of improving the efforts over the solving the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
