Azerbaijan`s Prime Minister attends Eurasian Intergovernmental Council`s meeting in Sochi

Azerbaijan`s Prime Minister Ali Asadov has participated in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Sochi, Russia.
Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev’s participation as a guest in an expanded meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow in the last month.
Ali Asadov underlined that the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Eurasian Economic Union partners is one of Azerbaijan's foreign policy priorities.
“According to the last year results, the trade between Azerbaijan and the Eurasian Economic Union member states increased by 31 percent to 4.7 billion dollars. Azerbaijan is an important hub in East-West and North-South transport routes,” the Prime Minister noted.
"Today, we are investing in the creation of a diversified network of roads and railways in the liberated Karabakh by connecting the Northern transport network with the Southern and Eastern networks. Construction of the ninth international airport in Lachin, which will be put into operation in 2025, is rapidly going on.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that taking into account the broad agenda of interstate relations in a bilateral format with the partner members of the Eurasian Economic Union, Azerbaijan will continue its efforts to boost relations in all directions.
