Azerbaijan’s human rights commissioner addresses OIC Ombudsmen Association`s meeting in Morocco

Azerbaijan`s Commissioner for Human Rights Sabina Aliyeva has addressed a meeting of the Ombudsmen Association of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Morocco.
Sabina Aliyeva highlighted the multifaceted activities of the institution, the innovations implemented over the past two years. Noting that the Ombudsman Institution of Azerbaijan will mark its 20th anniversary, Sabina Aliyeva also hailed the measures taken to ensure the protection of human rights as an independent monitoring mechanism.
The Ombudsperson noted that numerous reports were prepared and relevant public calls were made on human rights violations committed by Armenia.
She underlined the fact that Armenia did not provide any information about the fate of Azerbaijanis missing after the First Karabakh War was regularly brought to the world community`s attention.”
Following the meeting, the ombudspersons familiarized themselves with the Ombudsman Institution of the Kingdom of Morocco. Then the Azerbaijani and Moroccan ombudspersons discussed prospects for cooperation.
