Azeri protesters rally outside Iranian embassy in Sweden
Baku, May 21 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijanis living in the Kingdom of Sweden on Sunday demonstrated outside the Iranian embassy in Sweden to protest the Iranian government’s interference in Azerbaijan’s domestic affairs.
Azerbaijanis staged a demonstration near the Iran Embassy in Stockholm to protest unacceptable support by Iran to Armenia and violation of the rights of 35 million Azerbaijanis living in Iran, calling on Tehran to immediately halt its threatening statements against Azerbaijan.
The rally has brought together representatives of the Independence Party of Southern Azerbaijan, the Swedish-Azerbaijan Federation, Congress of Azerbaijanis in Sweden, South Azerbaijan Congress, the World Azerbaijanis Congress and other societies, the Azerbaijanis living in this country.
Demonstrators chanted and waved placards reading "Stop aid to Armenia, occupant of Karabakh ", "No road from Tabriz to Armenia," "Leave alone independent Azerbaijan" "Stop throwing stones at women!".
Speaking at the protest, the Swedish representative of the Independence Party of Southern Azerbaijan, chairman of the Swedish-Azerbaijan Federation Sattar Sevigin, Co-chairman of the World Azerbaijanis Congress Jawad Derehti, a board member of the World Azerbaijanis Congress Mamed Azer and others protested Iran, which can not accept the development of independent Azerbaijan, and demanded to put an end to this policy of Iran against Azerbaijan.
Then, a board member of the Swedish-Azerbaijan Federation Aida Amir Hashemi read out a statement of the South Azerbaijan Congress.
