BENELUX AZERBAIJANIS PROTEST AGAINST US HOUSE COMMITTEE`S DECISION
Baku, March 9 (AZERTAC). The Benelux Azerbaijanis Congress (BAK) strongly condemned the US House Foreign Affairs Committee`s resolution on the so-called “Armenian genocide” and described it as the biased decision directed against fraternal Turkey, the statement of the BAK`s Board said.
“It is an evidence of support for Armenians who continue to violate international norms and principles by occupying 20% of Azerbaijani lands and displacing over a million of Azerbaijanis, committed a real genocide against Azerbaijanis in the town of Khojaly 18 years ago, on February 26, 1992 and the blood of thousands of people is on their hands,” the statement says.
The BAK expressed hope that US President Barack Obama would prevent adoption of the resolution by the congress since it can damage US-Turkey and US-Azerbaijan relations.
