Baku hosts opening ceremony of 35th Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships

A solemn opening ceremony of the 35th Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships has been held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
First, a parade of participating countries was held, which followed by oath taking ceremony of athletes, coaches and referees.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov and President of the International Gymnastic Federation (FIG) Morinari Watanabe wished the athletes successes.
Minister Farid Gayibov said that Azerbaijan today is recognized as a successful organizer of various international sports competition, adding that gymnastics competitions occupy a special place among these events. Although Azerbaijan is hosting the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships for the first time, this is the fourth World Gymnastics Championships held in Baku.
Following the national anthem of Azerbaijan, the World Championships was declared officially open.
About 300 gymnasts from 33 countries will compete in the 35th Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships, which will run until November 21.
