Belgian police catch Brussels bomb suspect

Baku, March 23, AZERTAC

Belgian police arrested one of the men suspected of carrying out Tuesday’s bomb attacks in Brussels, according to Politico.

Najim Laachraoui — who has also been linked to the preparations for the Paris attacks last November — was detained in Anderlecht.

Belgian police had launched a manhunt for Laachraoui after Tuesday’s attacks, saying he had fled the scene of the bombings at Zaventem airport, where at least 11 people died. The second attack, at Maalbeek metro station in central Brussels, killed at least 20 people. Hundreds were injured in the attacks, for which ISIL claimed responsibility.
