Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pasazade has met Sweden's Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom.
Prior to the meeting, the Swedish Minister has today visited the Tazapir Mosque in Baku. She was informed about the reconstruction work carried out in the Mosque. The Minister signed the Mosque`s guest book.
Mr. Pashazade highlighted the religious situation in Azerbaijan, as well as the country`s tolerance environment, and achievements gained in the fields of inter-religious dialogue and cooperation.
The Chairman spoke about the progress achieved in the religious field after gaining the independence, saying “Heydar Aliyev founded tolerance traditions, respect to religious values in Azerbaijan.”
Mr. Pashazade said representatives of various confessions live in peace and in stability in Azerbaijan and spoke about the progress achieved in the fields of promoting the religious tolerance in the country.
Margot Wallstrom, in turn, highlighted relations between the two countries. The Minister said inter-religious dialogue and cooperation in Azerbaijan has precious value.
Head of the Community of Azerbaijan's Mountain Jews Milikh Yevdayev, Archbishop of Baku and Azerbaijan eparchy Alexander Ishein, provided an insight into religious traditions of the country.
