Estonian team anchored by flagbearer Nabi
Baku, June 2, AZERTAC
Estonia's 59-strong team for the Baku 2015 European Games will be led by flag bearer Heiki Nabi. The Greco-Roman wrestler has been chosen to carry the flag at the Games' Opening Ceremony on athletic merit. The two-time world champion won Olympic silver in the 120kg weight class at London 2012.
The Estonian team also features a strong group of epee fencers. Nikolai Novosjolov is a two-time world champion while Julia Beljajeva won the 2013 individual European women's title and teamed up with fellow Baku-bound fencers Irina Embrich and Erika Kirpu for 2013 Team European gold and 2014 Team world silver medals.
Judoka Künter Rothberg claimed a European bronze medal in 2006 while Greco-Roman wrestler Ardo Arusaar and shooter Anzela Voronova both appeared at London 2012. Mountain Bike rider Maaris Meier competed at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
