FEMALE STUDENTS FORBIDDEN TO WEAR MINI SKIRTS, DECORATIONS AND HIJABS
The Ministry of Education of Tajikistan has forbidden female students of local schools and higher educational institutions to wear mini skirts, decorations and hijabs, AzerTAj correspondent for Central Asia reported. Girls who violate the rule will be imposed a disciplinary penalty, and those who do so persistently will be expelled.
“It would be fine if the girls prefer traditional dresses, but Europe-style clothes is also allowed; wearing hijab, however, is forbidden by the Constitution”, Noilsho Nuraliyev, the Ministry’s spokesman told journalists.
Also forbidden, according to him, is using cell phones as “it hinders the process of education.” “Those who arrive at school in their personal cars will also be regarded as rule beaker,” Nuraliyev added.
