Georgian parliamentary committee chair: “Regional security is the main guarantor of development of Azerbaijan and Georgia

“Stability is the main priority in the policy of Azerbaijan and Georgia. The regional security is the main guarantor of the two countries`development,” said chair of the Georgian parliament`s foreign relations committee Sofio Katsarava as she met with a group of Azerbaijani MPs. Katsarava underlined that friendship, partnership and strategic cooperation lie at the heart of a long-term relationship between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Head of the Milli Majlis working group on Azerbaijan-Georgia interparliamentary relations Aflatun Amashov expressed Azerbaijan`s interest in developing relations with Georgia in all fields, including the interparliamentary cooperation. The sides also discussed the prospects of development of the trilateral cooperation among Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. They noted that issues on bilateral and trilateral cooperation, stability and regional security were in the focus of the first trilateral meeting held in Ankara in early 2018. The sides also stressed the importance of signing a memorandum on trilateral cooperation among the foreign relations committees of the three countries` parliaments.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijani ambassador to Georgia Dursun Hasanov.
