HEAVY POLLING IN ANKARA
Our compatriots residing and working in Turkey, or staying here for a business trip, students arrived 0n October 15 at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center and General Consulate in Istanbul to partake in the presidential elections under free and democratic conditions.
Turkish mass media paid great attention to the elections: local TV-channels and websites were keeping the country’s community informed of the course of the presidential elections in Azerbaijan all day long, Turkish journalists interviewed our compatriots in the polling stations.
Chairman of the District Election Commission in Ankara, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, Prof. Sarvar Ganiyev told AzerTaj correspondent that no violations had been observed during the voting, “the elections have been held in an organized and transparent manner.”
662 of 733 voters included in the electoral rolls in Istanbul have participated in the voting.
