A delegation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian federation led by Lilia Gumerova has visited Azerbaijan`s Central Election Commission (CEC).

Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov informed the delegation about the preparations for the presidential elections. He said that around 5,315,000 electors are expected to cast ballots at 5,641 polling stations on April 11, adding that 118 representatives of 51 international media outlets will be covering the elections. He noted that 890 international and around 59,000 local observers will be monitoring the voting.

Gumerova hailed preparations for the presidential elections, saying that the Azerbaijani people have always demonstrated high level of responsibility towards elections. She expressed her confidence that the elections will be held in a fair and transparent environment. She said that the delegation will observe the voting and express their opinion on the results of their monitoring.
