Movie by Azerbaijani film-director Oktay Mir-Gasim wins award of 10th Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema
About 513 films from 56 countries were screened during the event. Kazan International Muslim Film Festival has granted awards to 20 films, 20 documentaries and 10 animations.
Croatian film director`s film “Halima`s Path” won the “Best full-length feature film” award, while the award “Best script of the full-length feature film” went to “The Last Stop” by Brazilian director Marcio Curi.
Tamara Mironova won the award in the nomination of “Best actress in the full-length feature film”.
Initiated by the Council of Muftis of Russia for the first time in 2005, the festival`s aim is to provide an objective view of Islam and Muslims to the world and Russian community.
The motto of the festival is “To the dialogue of cultures through the culture of dialogue”.
The number of the participants and the quantity of the films are increasing year by year. The international statue of the festival is annually being proved by the participant and visits of honourable guests from all over the world.
The films reflecting human, spiritual and moral values as well as cultural traditions, supporting the ideas of peacemaking, tolerance and humanity regardless of the nationality and religious affiliation of the authors are selected for the festival.
