NATIONAL CONFERENCE “COALITION 1325 AND AZERBAIJANI WOMEN IN PEACEMAKING PROCESS”
In her opening remarks, the member of “Coalition 1325”, Hijran Huseynova updated the participants on the major directions of the activity of this structure.
UNDP deputy representative in Azerbaijan David Eizenberg stated that UNIFEM supports the role of women, celebrating anniversary of the Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council, in the peacemaking process.
UNIFEM national coordinator on Azerbaijan Gulshen Pashayeva, chairman of State Committee on affairs of Women Zahra Guliyeva, MP Bahar Muradova and other orators noted that today the women of Azerbaijan take active part in the processes in both the country and world, hardly battles for prevention of conflicts and establishment of peace.
Then, in separate working groups conducted were discussions, ‘round table’, dedicated to the topic “Dialogue among numerous cultures as a mean of harmonization of the society” and ‘Activity of Azerbaijani women at the CE Parliamentary Assembly’. Speaking were member of the Azerbaijan delegation at PACE, MP Gultekin Hajiyeva and representative of the ministry of culture of Azerbaijan Nigar Akhundova.
Participants of the workshop determined key directions of the future activity of the “Coalition 1325” and adopted address.
