Baku, February 25, AZERTAC
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's 15th Winter Meeting has kicked off at the Hofburg Congress Centre in Vienna, Austria.
Nearly 300 parliamentarians from across the OSCE’s 57 participating States and Partners for Co-operation, including several speakers of parliament, are expected to participate in the meeting.
The crisis of migrants and refugees in Europe and efforts to strengthen the collective response, as well as the fight to combat terrorism, will be the central themes of parliamentary debate and keynote presentations. The Ukraine crisis is also expected to be discussed in the meeting, which will feature remarks by high-level OSCE officials and other keynote speakers.
The Meeting provides an opportunity for OSCE parliamentarians to engage in dialogue with OSCE officials on the latest developments in the OSCE area, debate and consider a range of topics, and reinforce interparliamentary contacts. The meeting also serves as an important opportunity for members to discuss their draft reports for the upcoming Annual Session.
