PREPARATION OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN RUSSIA UNDERWAY
On 6 January, CEC of Russian Federation completed admission of documents from the pretenders to ballot to the post of head of state of the Russian Federation.
On official returns, 10 persons nominated for the Presidency and they will run for the post of President, AzerTAj correspondent reports from Moscow.
According to experts, the major candidate with serious chances to win is the acting President of Russia Vladimir Putin. He was nominated not form the “Yedinaya Rossia” Party, as many expected, but as an independent candidate. It has to be reminded that according to the last legislation, the independent candidates should garner some 2 million signatures until 28 January, in contrast to the candidates, nominated from the political parties, who won at the elections to the State Duma of RF (they do not need signatures of the electors).
Besides the incumbent President, their candidacies as an independent candidate nominated the former speaker of RF State Duma Ivan Ribkin, co-chair of the “Soyuz Pravikh Sil” Party Irina Khakamada, co-chair of the “Rodina” bloc Sergey Glazyev, entrepreneur Vladimir Brintsalov and Anzori Askentyev.
From the political parties, have been nominated the following candidates: acting chairman of the Federation Council Sergey Mironov – “Rossiyskaya Partya Zhizni”, Nikolay Kharitonov – “Communist Party of RF”, Oleg Malishkin – “Liberal-Democratic Party” and others.
Thus, pre-election marathon started for the Presidency in Russian Federation.
