PRESIDENT OF SOCAR TO DISCUSS THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION OF BAKU-TBILISI-CEYHAN PIPELINE

On October 20, President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Natiq Aliyev took off for Turkey to take part in a number of actions connected with construction of the oil pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan.

He is to meet and negotiate with the leaders of BOTAS Company, a general contractor of the Turkish part of the pipeline, as well as Tekfen Company, constructing the terminal in the port of Ceyhan. During the visit to Ankara, he is to hold a meeting in the Ministry of Energy of Turkey to work out organizational actions, providing the completion and putting into life of the Turkish part of oil pipeline by end-2004, press service of SOCAR reports.

A sitting of BTC Co Board of Directors is to be held on October 22 and 23 under the chairmanship of Natiq Aliyev to discuss technical, commercial and financial issues of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan construction.

Members of the Board and representatives of foreign companies will acquaint at spot with the objects and the sectors of construction of Azeri oil transport system, and the course of construction of the Ceyhan terminal, one of the main and important objects of the Turkish sector of the pipeline.
