Progress of karate amid coronavirus pandemic discussed in second round of meetings with national federations

The second round of meetings with national federations has been held as World Karate Federation (WKT) President Antonio Espinós met via videoconference with representatives of national organisations from European countries.
The first gathering had representatives from nearly 30 European national federations joining the discussions. Delegates from Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, England, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Russian Federation, San Marino, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine participated in the meeting.
WKF President Antonio Espinós highlighted the importance of unity and accountability while he appreciated the efforts of national federations to maintain the practise of the sport in their territories during these unprecedented times.
The promotion of Karate at the national level and the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in the continent were also on top of the agenda. The different possibilities for the re-start of the competition were discussed as the participating national federations were encouraged to join another meeting scheduled to be held by the end of the year.
