SOCAR JOINS ANNUAL GLOBAL REFINING SUMMIT 2010 IN NETHERLANDS
Vienna, May 21 (AZERTAC). The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has participated for the first time in the 4th Annual Global Refining Summit 2010 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The event focused on current market dynamics and how these will affect refining operations, optimizing refining business to improve margins, latest development and expansion plans of refineries across the globe and access different perspectives from around the globe on clean fuel strategies.
The event brought together world`s leading oil refining companies, including the British Petroleum, Statoil, Gazpromoil and Exxon Mobil.
Sessions, workshops, conferences and exhibitions on innovations and developments in refining technology have been organized as part of the summit.
Azerbaijan`s achievements in oil refining industry were popularized at the exhibition through booklets, photo stand and other materials.
Chief of the SOCAR office in Austria Gulmirza Javadov informed the participants about ongoing infrastructure and energy projects in Azerbaijan. He also told of oil-gas and Petrochemical complex, which is set to be built in Baku.
“SOCAR plans to implement such projects in other countries, including Turkey”, Javadov underlined.
SOCAR`s delegation had a number of meetings with other oil companies`s managers, including secretary General the European Petroleum Industry Association Isabelle Muller, vice president for strategy of company “Total” Jean-Jacque Moskoni to discuss state-of-the-art technologies in oil refining industry.
During the summit, a luncheon was given on behalf of SOCAR.
Organizers of the event invited SOCAR`s managers to attend the next Global Refining Summit.
