SOCAR President meets Japanese delegation
Baku, November 19 (AZERTAC). SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev has met Japanese delegation led by Yoichi Kobayashi, co-chair of the Japan-Azerbaijan Economic Commission, ITOCHU Corporation`s Energy, Metals & Minerals Department President.
Mr. Kobayashi recalled the fifteen-year history of successful cooperation on implementation of a variety of projects both in oil and non-oil sectors. He particularly underscored the importance of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli project among other international ones implemented by the corporation. He also expressed the company`s interest in expanding its participation in the projects. Rovnag Abdullayev stressed the role of ITOCHU in realization of the joint projects and achievements in oil and gas industry. According to him, SOCAR has received permission from the Turkish government to build a new oil refinery with design capacity of 10 million tons per year, which has created vast new prospects for cooperation in this sphere. Abdullayev noted there were great opportunities to deepen cooperation between SOCAR and Itochu. He said SOCAR would carefully consider Itochu`s relevant proposals.
