SOFAZ EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MEETS NGO COALITION MEMBERS

Shahmar Movsumov, Executive Director of the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) met on February 18 with members of the NGO Coalition “To Improve Transparency in the Extractive Industry” (ITEI).

During the meeting, the Executive Director briefed the NGO ITEI members on achievements, attained in the process of applying the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Azerbaijan.

The meeting discussed the NGO ITEI members’ offers regarding amendments to memorandum of understanding on EITI.

Highly assessing the cooperation between NGO ITEI and State Commission on applying EITI, Mr. Movsumov expressed his confidence that this cooperation, as well as state policy of Azerbaijan in this sphere would further continue.
