Shahdeniz `produces 23m cm of gas daily`

Baku, July 19 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan`s state oil firm, SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev has said the gas production from the Shahdeniz field is 23 million cubic meters of gas per day.

Abdullayev spoke at “Caspian Energy Dialogue” international conference in Baku.

“The condensate production is 5,000 tons per day,” the SOCAR chief added.

The Shahdeniz is the largest natural gas field in Azerbaijan. It is situated in the South Caspian Sea, off the coast of Azerbaijan, approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi) southeast of Baku, at a depth of 600 metres (2,000 ft). The field covers approximately 860 square kilometres (330 sq mi). The Shahdeniz gas and condensate field was discovered in 1999.
