Statue of prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev unveiled in Makhachkala

Makhachkala, 12 May, AZERTAC

A statue of outstanding statesman Aziz Aliyev has been unveiled in the Republic of Dagestan, Russian Federation.

Dagestani and Azerbaijani officials attended the unveiling ceremony.

In his remarks, chairman of the International Affairs Committee at the Russian State Duma Konstantin Kosachev hailed "friendly" relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani first Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov underlined Aziz Aliyev's "outstanding" role in developing the friendly and fraternal ties between the two countries.

Son of Aziz Aliyev, director general of the National Oncology Center, academician Jamil Aliyev said the statue symbolizes friendship between the two friendly people.

The statue is located in the street named after Aziz Aliyev.
