THE 5TH CONGRESS OF RUSSIAN PRESS BEGAN ITS WORK IN BAKU
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent addressed to the Congress.
The ceremony was opened by the President of the World Association of Russian Press, Director General of Telegraph News Agency of Russia ITAR-TASS, Vitaly Ignatenko. The head of public-political department of President’s Office Ali Hasanov read the text of greeting of the President of Azerbaijan to participants of the congress.
Further, the ceremony was continued by speeches made by deputy head of the government of Moscow, Galina Karelova, deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, people’s writer Elchin Efendiyev, Rector of the Baku Slavic University, Professor Kamal Abdullayev and others.
The ceremony was followed by a concert performed by art people of Azerbaijan and Russia.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Murtuz Alasgarov, President’s Office chief Ramiz Mehtiyev, Deputy Chairmen of the Parliament and government of Azerbaijan, Milli Majlis deputis, foreign countries’ Ambassadors and other officials attended the ceremony.
A reception in honor of participants and guests of the Congress was held on the same day in the Embassy of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan.
