TURKEY - GREECE SIGNED AGREEMENT ON GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION

Minister for Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Khilmi Guler and Minister for Development of Greece Atanasios Tsokhadzopulos signed agreement on construction of gas pipeline with length 285 km, which to directly transport “blue fuel” from Azerbaijan to Europe.
According to the agreement, the sides will allocate 80 mln dollars for construction of main part of gas pipeline to be laid via the territory of Turkey. After putting into operation 209 km length of this pipeline, Greece “DEPA” will start construction of the rest part of gas pipeline with another € 15 mln.
Ministers stated that 740 mln cubic meters of natural gas to be annually delivered to Greece. 11 bln cubic meters of gas is planned to yearly transport via this pipeline to the countries of Southern Europe and Italy.
