Third tour matches started in Baku Cup 2014
Baku, July 21 (AZERTAC). On the second day of the tournament, main draw matches also started along with 6 qualifying matches of the second round.
The first match of the main draw was played in the Centre Court of the Baku Tennis Academy. The match between Aleksandra Cadantu of Romania and Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland lasted 1 hour 24 minutes.
The world No 72, 24-year-old Voegelle was prevailing in the match against No 131 in the world Cadantu. She won the first set 6-1 leading the score.
In the second set, the efforts of Cadantu brought no results and she let Voegelle to win also this set 6-4 thus finish the match 2-0.
Due to this victory, the Swiss tennis player will play in the fourth round (1/8 final). Her next rival will be the winner of the match between Sorana Cirstea of Romania and Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.
