UEFA BOLSTERS HOMELESS FOOTBALLERS
UEFA will sponsor the world championship among homeless people – holiday of the yard football aiming at drawing world community’s attention to problems of homeless people. The tournament will run from July 25 to August 1 in Goteborg. The second championship will bring together some 300 participants from 32 countries. The first one was conducted in Austria.
Organizers expect 1 500 spectators for each match. In total, 50 thousand spectators are expected to come to the matches. The competition was supported by the International Network of Street Papers /INSP/. The organization helps people in emergency situations. Homeless people get a chance to earn money by selling newspapers and magazines. INSP affiliates 50 members in 28 countries.
