UNESCO GENERAL CONFERENCE SESSION TO BE HELD IN PARIS

The 32nd Session of UNESCO General Conference to be held October 17 in Paris is expected to gather over 3000 delegates including 300 Ministers and 5 heads of state.
According to the press-service of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Conference will define policy and propriety directions of the organization’s activity, and approve its 2004-2005 program and budget. The main directions of UNESCO activity are as follows: universal schooling, water resources and ecosystem, ethics of science and technology, cultural variety and development of inter-cultural dialogue, information and knowledge access.
The session is expected to consider a number of normative acts including covention, statemant ans recommendations.
Besides, election to the organization’s Executive Counsil is also expected during the session.
The delegation of Azerbaijan will be led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Vilayat Guliyev.
