UNESCO, World Wildlife Fund partner for Earth Hour 2013 project
Baku, March 16(AZERTAC). UNESCO will partner with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for Earth Hour 2013, one of the world's largest and most well-known environmental campaigns in the world.
Earth Hour 2013 will be held on Saturday March 23 and see the lights be turned off across the world from 8:30pm-9:30pm.
The project is aimed at promoting public awareness on the importance of environmental protection for the future of our planet by using monuments on the UNESCO World Heritage List, including as Icheri Sheher (Inner city), Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahlar Palace and Gobustan in Azerbaijan.
The Earth Hour 2013 events will be spotlighted by media, with images also being available to watch on the UNESCO website.
