ZABIT NABIZADEH WINS SECOND PRIZE AT MUSIC FESTIVAL

The fourth International Music Festival ‘Oriental Melodies’ has finished in the ancient Uzbek city of Samarkand.
At this great musical event gathered over 200 performers from 32 countries, Azerbaijan was represented by mugham trio conducted by singer Zabit Nabizadeh and Rector of Azerbaijan National Conservatory Siyavush Kerimi.
On the last day of the Festival, Deputy Prime-Minister of Uzbekistan, Chairman of Organizational Committee, Hamidulla Karamatov, and Chairman of jury, Korean expert in Oriental Music, Prof. Kim Shin Van noted addressing the closing ceremony that the event of this kind play important role in strengthening cultural ties between people.
Then, the festival winners have been announced as follows: Grand Prix went to ensemble ‘Uransay’ from Tuva Autonomous Republic of the Russian Federation, representatives of Uzbekistan and Iran ranked first, the second prize was given to the by mugham trio from Azerbaijan, the third one went to Afghan performers.
