Abbas Abbasov: Geography of the Global South Youth Platform is expanding

“Today, members of the Global Youth Platform will hold their first official meeting during the second part of the forum. A number of strategic decisions defining the future areas of activity for the platform are expected to be adopted during the session,” stated Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group.
According to him, these decisions encompass key matters such as admitting new members to the Global South Youth Platform, establishing close partnerships with specific international organizations in the future, as well as determining which countries and under which global platforms upcoming events will be hosted.
“Today, we anticipate the expansion of the platform’s geography and the admission of new members from various countries. The meeting plans to bring together representatives from independent states like Egypt, as well as foreign regions and overseas territories such as the island of Sint Maarten, a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. We are actively continuing our discussions on shaping global urbanization, urban planning, and sustainable development policies,” Abbasov emphasized.
