Africa highly appreciates Azerbaijan's peace and climate diplomacy

During the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Africa Climate Week (ACW), an event co-organized by the Azerbaijani COP29 Presidency and the Baku Climate and Peace Action Hub in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, Africa highly appreciated Azerbaijan's peace and climate diplomacy.
In her opening remarks, Ethiopia's Minister of Planning and Development Fitsum Assefa Adela expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its unwavering attention to African countries suffering from climate change and conflicts.
UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Africa, Parfait Onanga-Anyanga, and the Italian Government's Special Envoy for Climate Change, Francesco Corvaro, noted that the Baku Climate and Peace Hub, established last year at the initiative of Azerbaijan, has become one of the world's most important platforms in the field of international cooperation and climate action in a short period of time.
Elshad Iskandarov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who chaired the event, thanked for the high appreciation of the COP29 Presidency's activities in the field of peace and climate connectivity.
State officials from Chad, Iraq, and Guinea-Bissau, who presented pilot projects developed with the support of the Baku Hub, commended the experience and expert support provided by the COP29 Presidency.
As the forum concluded, the parties reached an agreement to present the results of the activities carried out at the High-Level Dialogue of the Baku Climate and Peace Hub within the framework of COP30.
