AKIRA AMARI: JAPAN WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF AZERBAIJAN
Speaker Murtuz Alasgarov pointed out the importance of the reciprocal visits by the two counties‘ interparliamentary friendship groups noting such meetings promote closer cooperation in all spheres. He appreciated the fact that Japan is involved in over 60 projects implemented in Azerbaijan, and has always helped refugees living here under difficult conditions.
Mr. Alasgarov recalled that as far back as 30 years ago Japanese specialists were immediately involved in construction and putting into operation of an air conditioners producing plant in Baku. Japanese companies are playing a great role in economic development of Azerbaijan; they, in particular, are actively involved in the construction of the main export oil pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, he said.
The Speaker also expressed gratitude to the government of Japan for support of Azerbaijan’s fair stance with respect to settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan problem. We’ll give not a single inch to the enemy, he stressed.
by Chairman of the Japan-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship League Akira Amari advised that his group had been founded during the official visit by nationwide leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev to Japan in 1998. Our goal is to promote further development of cooperation between our two countries. Japan has always supported territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and will continue to follow this course, he stated. The guest also noted that Azerbaijan is a country of rich natural resources unlike Japan, but the latter can provide Azerbaijan with sophisticated technologies. Japan is ready to render any assistance to Azerbaijan with this respect, Mr. Amari added.
He finally invited Speaker Murtuz Alasgarov to pay an official visit to Japan.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Toshiyuki Fujiwara.
