All schools closed in Sri Lanka due to adverse weather
Baku, October 27, AZERTAC
All schools across Sri Lanka will remain closed on Tuesday as a precautionary measure due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, Xinhua reported citing the Ministry of Education.
The ministry said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of students and school staff amid the current weather situation.
However, practical examinations for aesthetic subjects of the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level examination will be held as scheduled, the ministry said.
Sri Lanka has been experiencing heavy rainfall in recent days, with flood and landslide warnings issued for several areas, as cyclonic storm "Arnab" in the Bay of Bengal continues to indirectly affect the country.
